As a family member of Burt Bacharach confirmed to CNN, the songwriter who composed and sung dozens of pop hits from the 1950s to the 1980s, including different hit songs has passed away. Dusty Springfield, Dionne Warwick, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, the Carpenters, Christopher Cross, and many others recorded his songs.

Several of his songs were classify as “easy listening,” a gentle, old-fashioned style of music with few rough edges. The majority of his songs were far removed from rock and roll, funk, disco, or other popular music genres of the time.
